AFFILIATIONS

Relationships

Health & Safety Executive / Maritime & Coastguard Agency

Close relations are maintained by ERRVA with appropriate government departments and agencies including, particularly, the Health & Safety Executive and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

(Input from the Association to government bodies has played a part in the formulation of several pieces of legislation such as the Prevention of Fire and Explosion, and Emergency Response Regulations and accompanying Approved Code of Practice. It has also helped to bring about the transfer from government to industry of responsibility for Guidelines governing aspects of the provision of offshore emergency response and rescue services.)

Oil & Gas UK

ERRVA maintains a very close liaison with Oil & Gas UK both informally and through a Joint Working Group which meets every three months.

COGENT / OPITO

Training of crew members in specialist areas of rescue and recovery is co-ordinated by the Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organisation (OPITO / COGENT). The Association is represented on the Training Standards Committee of OPITO / Cogent and on all the Work Groups that develop new ERRV crew training standards.

EERTAG

The Evacuation, Escape and Rescue Technology Advisory Group (EERTAG) is the industry body responsible for monitoring all aspects of the requirements for and use of specialist technology for offshore evacuation, escape and rescue. ERRVA is represented on this group, together with representatives of Oil & Gas UK, HSE, MCA and the unions.
